The Census Order, 1921

[10 June 1921]

1921. No. 1022

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 10th day of June, 1921.

The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas by subsection (1) of Section one of the Census Act, 1920, (a) it is provided that his Majesty may by Order in Council from time to time direct that a Census shall be taken for Great Britain, and any Order so made may among other things prescribe the date of such Census:
And whereas by the Census Order, 1920, (b) the 24th day of April, 1921, was prescribed as the date of the Census, but by the Census (Postponement of Date) Order, 1921, (c) for the reasons therein set forth the Census was postponed until such later date as might be thereafter determined.

Now, therefore, His Majesty, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 1 of the Census Act, 1920, and of all other powers enabling Him in that behalf, is pleased to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Census Order, 1921, and shall be read as one with the Census Order, 1920, and the Census (Postponement of Date) Order, 1921.

2. Article 2 of the Census Order, 1920, shall be read as though the 19th Day of June, 1921, were therein substituted for the 24th day of April, 1921.
